The decision to end a marriage is intensely personal and often so difficult to make that many people struggle for months or even years before finally arriving at a decision. Some people aren’t even certain they want a divorce, but they talk to a divorce lawyer anyway so they understand what’s involved.
If, after talking with one of our attorneys, you want to consider marital reconciliation, we are happy to refer you to a number of experienced faith-based counselors who work with couples who want to restore their marriage.
If reconciliation is not a realistic option for you, put your trust in our family law team to stand by you throughout the divorce process.
Divorce Doesn’t Have to be a Battleground
At Albin Oldner Law, PLLC, we want our clients achieve their goals in divorce in the least stressful, least costly manner possible. That could mean your attorney engages in negotiations on your behalf with your spouse’s attorney.
Alternatively, you could use divorce mediation as a way to arrive at a mutually acceptable agreement about marital property division or child custody. In divorce mediation, each party is represented by his/ her own attorney, and our firm provides a third-party neutral mediator who guides the process.
Finally, if the gloves need to come off, they do. We have lawyers at the firm who aggressively represent our clients in trial court when that’s the best or only option to get the results you need in your divorce or custody case. From experience, they know the tendencies of judges on particular issues.
Legal Services for Complex and High-Asset Divorces
In our Frisco family law practice, many of our Collin County and Denton County divorce clients are business owners who have unique needs and challenges. We bring financial and business experts to the table in business divorce cases to ensure our clients get the best outcome possible. Unlike other family law firms, we have business attorneys in-house to assist.
Our firm also attracts high-income clients, high-profile celebrities and ball players who want to ensure their divorce is handled discretely. Mediation can be an attractive option for clients who seek privacy. Our family law attorneys, have mediated more than 2,200 divorce cases and settled 98% of them successfully.
Increasingly, we are seeing couples in their 50s, 60s, even 70s come to us to start divorce proceedings. For them, division of retirement assets is a critical issue. And if one spouse stayed home to care for children, spousal support will be particularly important as it will be difficult to re-enter the workforce later in life.
