He believes that a proactive approach to business planning and disputes is the best way to prevent disputes and to keep them from escalating. He also believes that law is about strategy and strategy is more than pushing paper. He also believes that sometimes strategy dictates that a fight is necessary.

John J. Mongogna has worked as a business attorney with a concentration in litigation and transactions since 1997, when he was licensed by the State Bar of Texas. Before beginning his legal career, he had the privilege of serving as a Legislative Aide to United States Representative Larry Combest in Lubbock, Texas.
He began his practice with a small-to-midsized law firm in Dallas, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Prior to joining Albin Oldner Law, PLLC, he worked for a large law firm handling complex litigation matters and business transactions. He has represented companies in major commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, high-profile insurance defense cases, noncompete disputes, real estate matters, franchise litigation, construction defect claims, dram shop cases, crane accident litigation, and business dissolution disputes.
John has worked on both the plaintiff and defense sides of numerous wrongful death and personal injury matters, including trucking, construction, automobile, premises liability, job-site accident, and consumer protection cases involving the DTPA. He has represented hospitals, airlines, and governmental entities, including constables, sheriffs, and county commissioners. He has extensive experience in jury trials, emergency and injunctive proceedings, and non-jury trials.
John is a resident of Collin County and an active member of his community and church. He has served on several boards and is regularly involved with charities and foundations. One of John’s passions is participating in and helping lead disaster relief mission trips. He is active in several professional associations and has received numerous awards within the legal community.
John is a devoted fan of Texas Tech University and its athletic program. During his time at Texas Tech, he received the Regents Scholarship (1994–1997), the W.R. Quilliam Memorial Endowed Scholarship (1995–1997), the Ex-Students Association Award Scholarship (1991–1994), and athletic scholarships (1991–1994).

John is a resident of Collin County and he is an active member in the community, church and has served on several Boards and is regularly involved with Charities and Foundations. One of John’s passions is to participate and help lead Disaster Relief mission trips. John is involved in several Associations and has received several awards in the legal community.

Fun Facts:

  • Travels regularly to play in Bocce tournaments and is very good. (“Challenge Me!”)
  • Grew up with a Bad Ass Army Dad from New Orleans and spent a large part of his youth in Hawaii. Not being able to surf every day is a great loss.
  • Has been married to his beautiful wife since 1994 and his pride and joy are his two daughters.
  • You probably don’t have a better sneaker collection than him.
